Student Showcase
Tour

Every day is a busy learning day

in Daniels PPCD.

Sometimes we go outside for recess. This gives us time to get some fresh air, work on gross motor skills, and especially work on social skills. A lot of us PPCD students have made good friends with other students.

We get the chance to play our own musical instruments and sing and dance to our favorite songs.

In the library, we learn how to listen quietly to the story, parts of a book, and important literacy skills.

We explore our creative sides by doing a lot of art projects.

We acted out stories during our Family Theme.

This is a modified concept map, based on what the rest of the grades use. Instead of just writing on it, our class uses pictures to put in the correct spots. The Concept Map was an idea that our literacy strategists presented a couple years ago. The A.M. and P.M. classes both use this during group.
The Sensory Map was an off-shoot from the Concept Map . Whatever the topic we're talking about, we use a simple object we can describe. Then the kids describe it using their 5 senses, and we record it on the Map.
Circle time is a very important part of the day in PPCD. We cover everything from the Pledge of Allegiance, counting, the alphabet, to patterns.
We practice writing skills as well. Whether we're learning to make circles and lines or writing our names, we take the time to get it right.

The teachers try to keep

thePPCD environment interesting and fun by changing the decorations

to go with the

seasons and holidays.

This is Ms. Kemery's

"Reindeer Practice"!
