As the school guidance counselor, it is my responsibility to help students receive the best possible education. A good education includes not only learning the three "R's" but also includes practicing social skills. This means, among other things, learning how to get along with others, making good decisions, controlling anger, accepting responsibility, and assisting students in being aware of their strengths and weaknesses. It is also my duty to be of help to parents. Grand Prairie ISD has partnered with their employees, community and local businesses to place emphasis on character...CHARACTER COUNTS! The six pillars of character that are emphasized to students are: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.
